What eyelash serum does

Lumigan (bimatoprost) is a prescription treatment applied along the lash line. It works by extending the growth phase of the lashes, which can lead to increased length, thickness and pigmentation over time.

Adam will assess suitability before prescribing and explain how to use the product safely. As with any prescription treatment, it’s important that it’s used correctly and under appropriate clinical guidance.

What results to expect

Results develop gradually, typically becoming noticeable over several weeks. Effects can vary, and continued use is usually needed to maintain the appearance of fuller lashes.

Eyelash Serum FAQs

What is the eyelash serum service?

This is a private prescription eyelash treatment offered following a face-to-face clinical consultation. Specific product details are discussed once a prescriber–patient relationship is in place, in line with UK regulations.

Why does it need a prescription?

The treatment used is a Prescription-Only Medicine, which means it can only be issued after a clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with prescribing rights, Adam reviews your medical and eye history before deciding whether it is appropriate.

How is it applied?

Application is once daily, in the evening, to clean dry skin along the upper lash line using a single-use applicator brush. Detailed instructions are provided after consultation, including how to manage make-up and contact lenses.

How long does it take to see a difference?

Early changes are sometimes noticed at around four weeks, with most users seeing more obvious differences by eight weeks. The full effect typically becomes apparent at around twelve to sixteen weeks of consistent nightly use.

Are the results permanent?

No — results depend on continued use. If treatment is stopped, lashes gradually return to their previous appearance over a number of weeks, which is why a maintenance routine is usually discussed.

What are the possible side effects?

Reported effects can include eye itching, dryness or redness, and darkening of the eyelid skin where the product touches. Rarer effects, including changes to iris colour or peri-orbital changes, are reviewed in detail at consultation so you can decide with full information.

Who should not use it?

It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for under-eighteens, or for anyone with active eye conditions, glaucoma, or who is taking certain eye-pressure medications. These factors are reviewed thoroughly before any prescription is issued.

How is it different from a peptide lash serum?

Over-the-counter lash serums tend to use peptides, biotin or botanical extracts to condition existing lashes. A prescription option works through a different mechanism, which is why a clinical assessment is needed before it can be considered.

Can I use it with lash extensions or a lash lift?

It can usually be used alongside extensions or a lash lift, provided the lash line is clean and dry before application. We suggest pausing use for around twenty-four hours either side of any extension or lift appointment.

How do I book?

The first step is a private consultation with Adam to review your medical and eye history. If the treatment is clinically appropriate, a private prescription can be issued and full guidance provided.
