What dermal fillers do

Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body that helps maintain hydration and volume in the skin. They can be used in areas such as the cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, and around the mouth where deeper lines may appear.

Adam uses his understanding of facial anatomy and structure to guide where filler may be most beneficial. Restoring volume through the cheeks can help support the lower face, while subtle adjustments to the chin or jawline can improve overall balance. Lip filler is approached with particular care, maintaining shape and proportion so results feel natural.

Rather than focusing on one area alone, Adam looks at how each feature relates to the rest of the face, ensuring changes feel harmonious.

What results to expect

Results are visible immediately, with further refinement as any initial swelling settles. You may notice improved definition in areas such as the cheeks or jawline, a soft restoration of volume, and a more balanced overall appearance. Results typically last between six and eighteen months.

Dermal Filler FAQs

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are smooth, injectable gels — most often made from hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule found naturally in the skin. They are placed beneath the surface to restore lost volume, refine contours and soften deeper lines.

Which areas can fillers treat?

Common areas include the lips, cheeks, jawline, chin, nasolabial folds and tear troughs. Each product is chosen to suit the layer of skin and the type of correction needed.

Will lip fillers look overdone?

A conservative, gradual approach helps lips look balanced rather than overfilled. Adam favours subtle definition and hydration, building results over more than one session where appropriate.

How long do dermal fillers last?

Longevity varies by area and product, but most clients find results last between six and eighteen months. Lips tend to be at the shorter end, while structural areas such as cheeks and jawline often last longer.

Are dermal fillers painful?

Most modern hyaluronic acid fillers contain a local anaesthetic, which keeps the treatment comfortable. Numbing cream may also be used, particularly for sensitive areas such as the lips.

What should I avoid afterwards?

For the first twenty-four hours we suggest avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas and very hot environments. Try not to press or massage the area, and sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first night or two.

Are hyaluronic acid fillers reversible?

Yes — one of the advantages of hyaluronic acid filler is that it can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase if there is a concern or you change your mind. This is one of the reasons Adam works almost exclusively with hyaluronic acid products.

What are the possible side effects?

Common, short-lived effects include swelling, redness, tenderness and occasional bruising at the injection points. Rarer complications are reviewed in full at consultation, alongside the steps Adam takes to minimise risk through anatomy-led placement.

When will I see the final result?

A noticeable difference is visible immediately, although mild swelling can mask the true outcome at first. The settled result is generally apparent at around two weeks.

How much do dermal fillers cost?

Cost depends on the product chosen, the volume needed and the areas being treated, so a personalised plan is shared after consultation. Please contact the clinic to book an assessment with Adam.
