Botox treatments

Anti-wrinkle injections, commonly known as Botox, are used to soften lines caused by repeated facial movement, helping you look more rested without changing how you look.

At ADAM, each treatment is carefully planned by Adam, drawing on his clinical experience and understanding of facial anatomy, so results feel natural, balanced, and right for you.

What Botox does

Botox (botulinum toxin) works by gently relaxing specific facial muscles that create expression lines. These most commonly include the forehead, the glabella, which is the area between the eyebrows often associated with frown lines, and crow’s feet around the eyes.

As these muscles relax, the skin above them appears smoother and less creased. Adam takes a thoughtful approach, looking at how your face moves as a whole rather than focusing only on individual lines. With his prescribing background and aesthetic training, he is able to assess muscle balance carefully, softening areas of tension while allowing natural expression to remain.

In some cases, Botox may also be used in other areas where muscle activity contributes to imbalance. Any decisions are made with care, guided by what will look and feel most natural for you.

What results to expect

You can expect a gradual softening of lines across areas such as the forehead, frown lines, and around the eyes, with a more relaxed and refreshed appearance.

Results usually begin to develop within a few days and continue to improve over one to two weeks, lasting around three to four months. Adam will adjust treatments over time based on how your muscles respond.

Botox FAQs

What is Botox and how does it work?

Botox is a brand of botulinum toxin type A, a purified protein used in tiny, measured doses to ease the activity of specific facial muscles. By softening that muscle movement, the skin above can look smoother and the lines created by repeated expression tend to settle.

Which areas can be treated?

The most commonly treated areas are the forehead, the frown lines between the brows and the crow’s feet around the eyes. Other options discussed during consultation include a subtle brow lift, bunny lines, chin dimpling, jawline slimming and neck bands.

How long does Botox last?

Most people find their results begin to soften from around three months, with the full effect usually lasting three to four months. Longevity varies between individuals depending on muscle strength, metabolism and lifestyle.

When will I see the results?

Subtle changes typically appear from day three to five, with the final result settling at around two weeks. We usually recommend a review at the two-week point so any small refinements can be considered.

Does it hurt?

The needles used are very fine, and most people describe the sensation as a quick scratch or pinch. The treatment itself is brief, usually completed within ten to fifteen minutes.

Is there any downtime?

There is generally no downtime, and most clients return to their day straight after. We ask that you stay upright for around four hours, avoid strenuous exercise for twenty-four hours, and refrain from rubbing or massaging the treated areas.

Will my face still look natural?

A measured, considered approach is at the heart of how Adam treats. The aim is a softer, fresher look that still moves and expresses naturally, rather than a frozen or overdone appearance.

What are the possible side effects?

Most side effects are mild and short-lived, including small bruises, redness or a brief headache. Less common effects, such as temporary asymmetry or eyelid heaviness, are discussed in detail during your consultation so you can make an informed choice.

Can Botox be combined with other treatments?

Yes, it often pairs well with dermal fillers, polynucleotides and skin boosters as part of a tailored plan. Adam will sequence treatments thoughtfully so each one has time to settle.

How much does Botox cost?

Pricing depends on the areas treated and the plan agreed at consultation, so a tailored quote is provided once Adam has assessed your goals and anatomy. Please get in touch to arrange a consultation.
